Have you ever bought an outfit but had no idea what shoes to wear? Or you've bought a pair of lovely leather boots and you're just not quite sure how best to clean them… We've all been there, right? How great it is to have someone on hand to offer some advice and inspiration like a loyal friend who won't ever let you down.
So we got to thinking…
Much like our own, there are a vast number of shoe blogs out there that are full of wonderful style tips, tricks and news. So we've been doing some digging and we've come up with what we think are the top shoe blogs and Instagram accounts that we believe are worth following (other than ours of course!). Blogging about shoes is no easy feat (pun intended), but these shoe bloggers sure have nailed it!
Let's see which we think are worth a follow:
We love love love ShoeTease! Fresh, modern and down to earth, if you love high fashion but still want practical, affordable shoes, then the ShoeTease blog has got you covered. Full to the brim with sound advice and style tips, with celebrity footwear gossip and reviews of different shoes and shoe accessories. Anything from the latest trainers to hit the market or pompom attachments that can transform your shoes! They genuinely do make an effort to cover all bases and offer advice and solutions to issues that you could easily face on a day to day basis, whether that's tips on footcare or what the best gifts are for the shoe lover in your life.
ShoeTease also offers advice on beauty, food and travel... But shoes will always be their first love!
If urban chic is your vibe, then Crepe City is definitely an Instagram account you need in your life. Describing themselves as ''a lifestyle, footwear and fashion festival that showcases leading streetwear brands from across Europe'', Crepe City strive to be the biggest trading forum for rare and hard to find trainers... And they're not doing a bad job so far!
Rather than the usual throw-away fashion that we see so much of these days, here we see a fabulous mix of vintage, retro and modern footwear that would make anyone's sneaker collection jealous. If you want wardrobe inspiration or you've already got a mild obsession, then Crepe City's Instagram will leave you in awe!
Hello Hannah is one woman’s creative outlet for all things fashion. She also offers advice and tricks on vegan cooking, home decor and beauty... all the while being supported by her partner and two lovely dogs!
Until recently, Hannah's blog was known as Champagne Lifestyle, where she celebrated all of the little luxuries in life without breaking the bank, with lots of smart fashion advice to boot! Hannah has continued with this but on a much more personal level, and what a gem she is!
A Swedish blog that was originally started in 2013, the English version was launched in 2016 and has already set itself at the forefront of. Shoegazing is solely focused on men’s ''classical quality shoes, made with traditional construction methods''. So if vintage, classic style is your thing and you want to learn more about the footwear of yesteryear, this is your place!
Without fuss, and as classy as you'd expect, Shoegazing cover many topics from how to fit classic men’s shoes to how they're made. There’s also tips on where to buy as well as shoe care and how to get the best out of bespoke footwear should you wish to commission your own! The perfect blog for anyone with keen interest in footwear design and manufacturing.
Much like Hannah's blog, Penny Pincher Fashion’s Kimberly puts her own personal spin on fashion but with the challenge of sticking to a budget of less than $100 (roughly £75), anything more expensive and it has to be seriously worth it!
Kimberly is a mum with a family, so practical yet stylish footwear is a must. Just a stone’s throw away from New York City, she has a more edgy vibe with a penchant for classic yet versatile clothes and footwear. She also offers lots of advice and tips on future trends as well as what's hot out there right now and where to pick up those all important bargains! Even though she's based in the States, many of the items recommended are available with international shipping so she's definitely one to keep your eye on!
Anna is a twenty-something Brightonian that lives for fashion and blogging. Her blog, The Anna Edit, is super active, with regular updates on what's going down in her world. She'll also share tutorials and updates via YouTube should you wish to follow her day to day goings on. Favouring simple style, Anna is very much the English rose. Effortless in her choices, she offers tips on anything and everything – from what wardrobe staples you'll need for a festival to how to pack an overnight bag.
She also has her finger on the pulse when it comes to bagging a bargain too! Often pointing you in the direction of style bargains, from footwear, to clothing to beauty products you didn't even know you needed.
Anna is also a big fan of health and fitness. As well as the usual fashion tips, she'll also give you a sneak peek into her health and fitness routine, some handy healthy recipes and tried and tested fitness wear that you'll love.
Definitely one of the more creative on our list, the I Have This Thing With Floors Instagram account has amassed almost a million followers... and we can see why, too! Not only do the images shared feature some of the most delicious floors (as the name might suggest), but the shoes featured are also something to behold!
If you like quirky footwear, then this account is definitely for you. The idea behind it is that ''When feet meet nice floors take a selfeet.'' Basically, if you come across an amazing floor, take a picture and share it with them! The idea has spread across the world, with people sending them images from Dubai, Texas and Mexico to name a few!
If you want to learn to live frugally in many areas of your life – from fashion to travel and everything in between, then this blog is the one for you. The Frugality was started by Alex from London, who works as a fashion stylist by day, but by night she moonlights as a blogger offering tips, tricks and advice on how to save money in an increasingly expensive world.
Cutting corners or cheaping out isn't the name of her game either, she just knows how to shop quality at the right price and affords herself life’s little luxuries... and looks super stylish whilst she's doing it!
If like many you struggle with the idea of wearing heels, well En Brogue give you good reason not to! A blog started by fashion writer, Hannah (a different one!) that focuses on both style AND comfort, with nothing but the funkiest flats on show and how to wear them. She's also an illustrator and author with an acclaimed En Brogue book under her belt too!
If like us, you value comfort and the idea of going out of your way to feel uncomfortable in the name of fashion is a real turn off, this blog will reinforce that flats can be trendy too! Hannah has a funky sense of style and a uniquely British sense of humour and that shines through in her blog. From snazzy trainers to retro women's ankle boots, there is no doubt that flats don't get the credit they deserve – thankfully Hannah’s here to change that!
In much the same vein as I Have This Thing With Floors, View From The Topp is an Instagram account more about the fashion. Started by stylist Kate Brien, it flips the whole idea of a fashion photography on its head (sort of). Not only are you treated to the luscious surroundings that Kate finds herself in but she has some fabulous footwear choices too.
Kate’s a lover of bohemian, beachy style – which is no surprise given her Californian roots. If you'd like some inspiration for your upcoming holiday in the sun, then this blog is the one for you.
Kate also has a blog of the same name, where you'll also find out what inspires her and where to buy the shoes she photographs.
We hope you liked our round up of fashion and shoe blogs. Whether your style is more classic or you prefer something a little more edgy, we hope you enjoy them as much as we do
